The big, beautiful fountain that lays in the middle of the shopping center.

Kirai sat on the rim of the fountain, a striped scarf wrapped tightly around her neck and black wool socks that reached her thighs. She clutched a cup of hot chocolate overloaded with marshmallows in her pale, unprotected hands. Her teeth chattered and she took a sip from the cup, instantly putting her at ease.

Hikami came up behind her, silently, his hands behind his back, he leaned down right next to her ear, "Boo." He said quietly and without emotion. "Do you mind if I sit with you for awhile?" He asked, already sitting beside her.

Kirai jumped spilling a bit of hot chocolate on the pavement. "Oh hello Hikami." Kirai said, trying her best to wipe away the hot chocolate with extra napkins.

"Hey," Hikami said, shuddering in the cold, his breath fogging on the cold afternoon air, he looked up at the grayish sky, his coat doing next to nothing to keep him warm.

"So...what are you doing out on such an awful day?" He asked, true curiosity in his voice. He turned to eye her with his big, black eyes.

The clacking of Celestine's heels against the pavement echoed. He went for a stroll, not knowing where everybody was. He saw the two from a distance and began watching them/

"Nothing in particular," Kirai lied, she had really wanted to escape the Academy's chaotic atmosphere,"But it's glad to see you out and about..instead of lying around in the dark." She had finished soaking up the hot chocolate and stuffed the wet napkins into her pocket.

"Well, I decided that wasting away and making you pissed at me would be no good." Hikami said, looking at her with a small smile. "If you want me to leave, I will." He added, quietly, staring at her uncovered hands.

"No you can stay, but answer this,"Kirai said nonchalantly," Do you think of me as violent crazed or bloodthirsty?" she asked. A thought had occurred to her not to long ago that perhaps she was the one bringing the fight to others and not the other way around. She looked down at her feet.

Celestine started towards them, as he approached he pulled the wet napkins from Kirai's pocket, "tsk, tsk. These should be thrown away", he said, tossing them into a trash bin. He turned around and sat down beside Kirai, he crossed he legs and gazed at the warden. "I dont think you're violent, or bloodthirsty. Perhaps crazed, but aren't we all", Celestine said in his usual "I'm more intelligent than you" manner.

"Nope," Hikami said, smiling at her, looking-as usual-like a little boy. "I think you're rather gentle despite your past, you just seem cold sometimes because you don't want to let your walls come down, and frankly, it's your job." He stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath and watching it cloud around them.

"Do you think I'm wild, psychopathic or criminally insane?" He asked, knowing he was. He obviously didn't have his sanity under control, it was annoying, not being able to go anyplace without spazzing and seeing monsters or trying to kill himself-and others.

He looked at Celestine, but didn't say anything, his usual shyness setting in.

"Well hello Rinami's love?"she said a bit surprised, Kirai turned to Hikami and looked at him," Yes I do think you're wild, psychopathic, criminally insane, and frighteningly intelligent, but that only makes you a more interesting character."

Hikai smiled briefly at Kirai, before glancing at Celestine, eyes wide and distrustful. This time, though, he controlled his sanity, his mouth only twitching slightly. He clasped his hands between his midthighs tilting his head slightly.

"H-Hello." He said, stuttering in his shyness. Oh well, he thought, giggling to himself, it was definitely better than freaking out and trying to murder the poor boy.

"Hello Kirai, and yes I do love Rinami, with all my heart", he said attempting to take her off guard. "So, we haven't met before, I'm Celestine L. Adler", he said extending his hand to the other boy.

Kirai took another sip of her hot chocolate and leaned forward so the other two could properly shake hands.

Hikami stared at the hand as though it was diseased, taking it gingerly between two fingers and shaking it once before dropping it. He wiped his hands on his bony thigh, "Hikami, the resident psychopath." He greeted a hint of dark humor in his voice.

"Celestian, genius detective", he said proudly!

Skylar wondered around spotting the group of people. She debated on talking to them or not, she was still completely dazed from the pain pills the hospital wing made her take.

"Hey Hikami" she said walking over to him and the others.

Kirai had disappeared with her cup of hot chocolate resting on the rim of the fountain, but she soon returned with a mug of the similar substance in each hand. She handed one to each and quickly regained her seat. "So Celestine, how was your date with Rinami to the park?" she asked out of innocent curiosity.

"Hi there Skylar, please take a seat." she said to the newcomer.

Hikami snorted amusedly, resting his elbow on his thigh, chin resting in his hand. He stared at the snow that started to fall, he held out his uncovered hand, catching one in his pale fingers.

"It's pretty," he said, amazed. They didn't get this type of thing back where he had lived. He continued to stare at the snow, his overly white skin blending in with his surroundings. The only thing that made him stand out was his bright red cap and black eyes.

He ignored both the cup of hot chocolate and barely nodded at Skylar as she approached, he scrunched up his nose. "You smell like mints and...blood?"

Celestine lit his pipe and took a puff of chocolaty tobacco. He also grabbed the hot cocoa from Kirai "Thank you", he said. He took a sip and recounted the date in his mind, "It was lovely, I loved every second of it. She makes me happy", Celestine stated. Looking at Skylar and smiling

Hikami felt slightly left out, not being talkative, nor knowing of the people around him. He decided he would never hole himself up in his bedroom again, it left him behind on his socialization skills and just made him awkward and shy. He looked at Skylar, holding out his hot chocolate.

"Do you want this? I heard mint goes good with chocolate, and if my senses are correct, you've been eating a lot of mints." He offered, before returning his eyes to the falling white droplets, they were beginning to diminish slightly.

At that moment Celestine leaped from his seat and walked over to Skylar and Hikami, "That's where your senses are incorrect my friend", Celestine said, "If you smell closely you can tell it's not the smell of mints themselves, but mint flavoured gum, it's very subtle but there is a difference". Celestine was excited, he loved this. "Now, if you smell her breath it's not coming from there, so you can infer she hadn't been chewing gum, from this we can infer she was around somebody who has an affinity for mint gum, our friend Chase", Celestine deduced excitedly.

Kirai seemed to understand what Hikami was thinking so she turned to him and did her best to get him up to date,"Mmh, Rinami is dating this guy,"she said jutting out her thumb at Celestine," and a guy named Chase is dating her." this time her eye just flickered towards Skylar. "And I've become the asylum's very own voyeur."

Hikami stared at Celestine with wide eyes, slightly disturbed by his exuberant outburst, his hands began fidgeting between his knees, slightly. "Yeah, I'll get right on smelling someone's breath." He said.

He looked at Kirai. "So much romance." He said, shuddering at the thought of being that close to another human being. His teeth chattered, more from emotional overload than the cold, though.
